Studio Session: Backing vocals

Great to be back here after a busy few weeks. Performing at the Edinburgh Fringe festival was a great experience for me and alot of fun. I saw and met so many talented performers. The weather was kind to me, except for one day when i got seriously wet!. Then, it was back into the studio as we start to put the finishing touches to 'Somewhere New.'  Mandi, a brilliant backing vocalist popped in to help with four songs. What a difference and what a singer!

I'll be back recording in a few weeks and the album should be completed by the end of the year. Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope it's sunny where you are!

Studio Session

Studio Session: Monday 13th August

Back in the studio yesterday, making improvements to seven of my songs. One of my first recordings, 'Rollercoaster,' I had recorded last November. It was strange to revisit the song and Tom advised some additional sounds and instruments which improved it significantly.

Now that we have sorted out what needs to be done, the next session will be with a backing vocalist in September. Mandi will add backing vocals to the songs that need them.

My album is getting closer to being finished and I can't wait to see the album and hear what it's like! I have had a great time in the studio and it has been a fantastic experience! I've learnt so much since last November and I will no doubt continue to learn for years to come!

Studio Session: Final song!

Studio Session: 15th July- Falling lies

On Sunday I recorded my final song 'Falling lies'. This turned out to be a heavy rock song. When I first wrote the song it had a completely different sound to what it has now. It's gone from quiet acoustic guitars to powerful electric guitars!

I have been recording since late November and have had so much fun in the studio! I only have a few more sessions to go, these will be for adding final vocals, backing vocals, added instruments and then the final mixing of the album! After all that my album will be finished!

An exiting session is coming up very soon! This will most likely be revealed in my next post which will be coming up soon, so please keep a look out for my next post!

Welcome to my blog!

This blog is very new, so you may notice various edits and changes in colour scheme etc while I get to grips with it's aesthetics!

I will be using this blog to provide news of my forthcoming album, Somewhere New, post my latest songs on YouTube, and generally just to have somewhere to document all my 'behind the scenes' extras!
